F1 LIGHT 2000 929CBR

Can someone please help me, I bought my bike in March of this year and when I bought it I realized that my speedometer didn't work but that was fine at the time, now i'm seeing that after riding for a while and the F1 light is coming on and there's a red light on the instrument that is lite up when the F1 light is on, sometimes the red light is on when the F1 is not on, does this mean there's a problem with oil pressure? Light doesn't go off until the bike has been turned off for a while, i've looked at the manual and it's confusing to me still because i'm still so new to riding..planning to take it to Honda shop for some TLC this week any ideas or suggestions on what could be wrong?

That light is actually the fuel injection (FI) light I can't help you with your problem just thought I should clarify that.

if you watch how many times your fi light blinks it will do a certain pattern *a code* on my 01 cbr 929 this summer i had the fi light on and it was my exhaust servo motor out, replaced it and it went off. it will blink like 3 fast 2 long for ex. i dont think you have a problem w/ your oil i bet is the servo motor or valve. find the code its throwing and search fi light in search and you will find everything you need.

Re: F1 LIGHT 2000 929CBR

There is a certain position that the servo motor should be in to keep the light off. Many people move the servo to take off the wires that go to the airintake or exhaust valve. When this is moved the FI light will come on if not put back to the original position. The servo is located on the left side of the bike just under than rear of the gas tank. You can see it from the side of the bike without removing any plastic. It's sliver and is about the diameter of a 50cent piece. It has three grooves around it for the three wires that wrap around it.

Do you know what was done to the bike before you bought it? Does it have a full exhaust or slip on? If so they had to remove the exhaust valve and may have moved the servo.

Hi I've just been around about every code possible with my blade so maybe I can help. First turn on ignition,if FI lights watch red light on dash it may flash a sequence of flashes eg.1 long flash 1 short flash equals error 11:faulty speed sensor or wiring.Take note of the sequence and respond, maybe I can help further.

When I bought the bike, the guy told me that the bike has a slip on and they put a two brothers system on the bike, but service wise I don't know what type of work had been done, I really appreciate all the assistance that has been provided to me.
