RR5 Engine Ticking 3000-4000 Revs

RR5 Engine Ticking 3000-4000 Revs

Hi,New to Honda,s after years on Italian V Twins,is this normal or what that my 2005 Fireblade with less than a 1000 mile on it Ticks its head off between 3000 and 4000 Revs,if so what is it Ticking,Iam odviousley concerned about this and any feedback off you Lads would be really appreciated.Please Help.

Have you vhanged the exhaust on it? If it has been changed you could be hearing an exhaust gasket leak or "tick". This normally happens when someone changes the exhaust and doesn't change the exhaust gaskets.

How is the oil level? Is it quality oil? Do you ride long wheelies?

BTW: I have found that when going from a V engine to an inline you tend to hear things you never did before. A mild ticking noise is common.

my 05 Blade ticks as well....when I first heard it I thought it might be a loose tappet or such.

Aup guys.i have put an exhaust on it but only a slip on,its alot louder than the standard odviously but can still hear this damm ticking noise.As soon as i hit 4000 revs it stops.
