| Delayed/Laggy Indicator Hey guys,
On my 1998 CBR900RR, when i indicate, the indicators don't come on for a certain amount of time, however, once they do come on, they flash at the normal rate.
For example, i push the indicator switch left. Nothing happens for 5 seconds, then it just starts indicating like it normally would. Turns off straight away if i push off. This happens with both left and right indicators. I haven't had a play with the bike while it's parked yet (will do tonight), but i've tried indicating while swerving left and right to see if it's a loose connection or something, and i haven't found anything yet to make me think it's a loose connection that is being triggered once i go over a bump/angle the bike.
Any help guys?

| Re: Delayed/Laggy Indicator I'm getting the same issue on my 99 blade. I pulled apart the indicator switch and the contacts were a bit corroded so I cleaned them up some but the issue is still there. Has anyone aside from the 2 of us had this issue and sorted it? I'm thinking I didn't clean the contacts enough but I'd like feedback from others if possible...

| Re: Delayed/Laggy Indicator I've had this issue on my blade for about 2 weeks now, seems to be worse in the cold mornings, sometimes about 10 seconds on left and a max of 5 or 6 on the right, I also checked the switch and it seems clean enough to make contact so I have just come back from the bike shop with a new relay for the indicators, think it may be getting stuck or something.
Will try and fit this tomorrow night or maybe Thursday work permitting and will let you know if that solves the issue if you like.

| Re: Delayed/Laggy Indicator Have you tried cleaning the contacts on the flasher relay, or even trying another relay to see if that sorts it.
Thx ...Tingull |

| Re: Delayed/Laggy Indicator The relay may have gone... On my sons RXS the lights would come on very slowly and at times just stay on. Its worth a try as the relays cant be anything more than $10 on eBay...

| Re: Delayed/Laggy Indicator I did the full clean out, problem still persists.
I just noticed because i was testing while the bike was off, if i push left, there is nothing for a second, then a few quick clicks then the lights start flashing with the clicks, so i'm guessing it's the relay.
Where is it, how do i replace it, and where is the best place to get one from? |

| Re: Delayed/Laggy Indicator I have this problem sometimes on my 03' 954 but not all of the time. I too thought it could be the flasher relay until I was told on the 954 the flasher is controlled in the clocks. Mine seems to happen on damp or wet mornings. |
