Re: reading code for 929 2001

slow flashes are the first number, fast flashes indicate trailing numbers.... 5 slow then 4 fast would be an error code 54. 5 slow, 4 fast, break, 4 fast would be 544 not sure if bikes have 3+ digits though, I know cars do. Once you get the code look it up in your owner's manual and it will give you a brief description of what the ECU thinks is wrong

Re: reading code for 929 2001

Yes, but there is no code 45.
Code 8 is the throttle position sensor.
Since you don't have a manual to check the codes I'm guessing you aren't going to be able to check any of the sensors anyway though?
Is the bike actually having any problems?

Re: reading code for 929 2001

There is a pause between flashes so it can indicate multiple problems.
The most I've seen at one time is four codes :-)

Did anything happen to the bike just before it started throwing codes?

Not as far as I'm aware.
Theoretically, dealers should have a device for testing ECU's but I've never seen one.

Re: reading code for 929 2001

I don't know of one but they're listed somewhere on the forums.
1 & 2 are MAP sensor
7 is Coolant temp
8 is Throttle position
9 is Intake air temp
11 is Speed sensor
12-15 are the injectors
18 is Cam pulse generator
19 is Ignition pulse generator
33 is the ECU
34 & 35 are the exhaust valve
21 & 23 are only in Catalytic converter ECU's.
