| Re: 2008 Fireblade Recall Yep, I got the clutch recall letter yesterday. Honda of America is also sending a mechanic to determine why it's burning oil like crazy...2 qts. in 800 miles!
I'm being told they're likely going to replace my engine.
to be continued... |

On the bike there are two ventilation fans,
Does any one know when the left one starts?
Also noted that on the black painted surface of the Exhaust pipe has slightely deformed and changed color.

BTW it has been treated like a baby and garaged | I live in Greece and received the letter for faulty water pump clip on September.
I think that the problem is only related to a series of bikes and not all of them.
Also heard a lot of people complaning that the paint desolves after washing.
I have my bike since the end of May and paint condition is still perfect.
One question:
Is the painted black surface on Exhaust Can of your bike completely flat (no slight deformation)?
Thanks in advance. |

Mikey | Going to answer that as carefully as I can, from what Ive read on this site Honda have officially recognised the fault and are changing the exhausts.
I havnt got in contact with the dealer yet (as I live hundreds of miles from one and the its Winter here with snow forcast)
Ill let you know what my local dealer has to say but tbh its what Honda themselves say

Thanks in advance. | The surface of the exhaust lower is definietly not perfectly flat even when brand new. It has "bump" like high spots. Crap description I know.
I contacted Honda about mine, and mine isn't really bad as I have only done 1500 miles. Immediately they said that they were aware of the problem and would replace it under warranty. I spoke to my dealer who said that they thought production had not changed, so the new exhaust would only end up looking the same. They advised me to wait a bit to see if Honda change production of it, and actually paint it with something that is heat resistant.
I'm not too worried as Honda admit there is a problem, and I have over a year of warranty to replace it should I choose to. |

| Re: 2008 Fireblade Recall Yup, got my 2008 CBR1000rr clutch inner PUD in the mail a few days ago. I'm wondering if that'll help it not bang so hard into first from neutral, too. Only a few thousand miles on it so far, no oil consumption, though I'm not wringing it out at all. Tires are about toast. |

Ill let you know what my local dealer has to say but tbh its what Honda themselves say | just an update... the honda dealership said they are aware of the fading paint but as of right now, Honda America is not offering anything to resolve the problem. it is currently a non warranty issue, but my dealer said that "could" change down the road, but hes not so optimistic...
