Oh, im not even close to being technically inclined. lol
Im going to do my best as i go, and get as much help from people that know what they are doing. Ill try it for myself with advice, and then get help if i mess up.
Oh, and ill definitely be throwing up pictures.
This project is pending if i get the engine i plan on getting. If i don't, ill put it on the back burner. Ill know in a day or so.

A mix of mild and stainless they bend when you crash but its all easy and cheap to weld straight, engines we just grab on ebay and running gear from go cart supplies then we beef things up from there they are just so much fun i will try and get some on board footage and post it up.

Ok, so ive ran into a design problem.
Im going to go with a Brembo kit for the 08 Yamaha Rhinos, which are about 1k, and are 12 or 14 inch. The problem im running into, is that i am unsure which size wheels i need to use. I know they have to accommodate the brake kit, but all i can find are 12/7 and 14/7.
Is there a law in the US that requires a certain amount of width, and diameter, and are their any other options for that lug pattern?

So, i think the project is going to be scrapped.
I just logged into my ebay account, and i was bidding on a 929 motor. I was winning @ $199.99, and it ended. I didnt win, and there are "0 bids". So the guy removed my bid!? I have 100% Feedback, although only for 2 items [one of which was a car].
"The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the minimum bid or reserve amount." eBay Motors: 00-01 Honda CBR 929RR Engine Transmission Motor (item 250312827423 end time Oct-28-08 00:55:08 PDT)
Can he just do that? Is there anything i can do? |

Nope, as long as its a valid reason they can withdraw it (they have to cancel the bids I think too)

The search continues for an engine.
So, i have a partner now on this project. So it will be a bit easier to finance.

Just keep your eyes open... super bike motors are not that uncommon... luckily (or unluckly depending who you are) squids wreck em almost as fast as they are built |

It may be painful, but if you wait till spring it will prolly be very cheap, everyone wrecking bikes after a winter of not riding. That or if you see one in the dead of winter, people prolly arent going to want to buy it...

You could do that, wouldnt be that hard, you just gotta wait on the motor mounts to see what kind of engine you get.

Wait... Why rush?
If you cant wait for that specific engine, why not look for a different one e.g. Honda Fireblade Engine (never go wrong) or a Suzuki Hayabusa 1300 (not sure)? Build once, build properly.

Of course you cant go wrong with the blade engine.
Busa engines are something i would definitely go for, but is a tad expensive.. $1300+. Seems like a $1/cc thang.
I need to start somewhere, or i wont commit to it, and will push it aside.

***UPDATE***
Change in plans...
I have taken up this project with a friend, to further the financial abilities, and have some fun with a friend... Although a 929 or similar literbike-engine-powered cart would be amazing, we decided something different would be better.
I found a SBF 302 engine in my shed that i forgot about from when i bought my car off eBay [he threw the engine and a tranny in for a little extra].
Our plans so far are:
~~Rebuild and build up the 302 [Make it a stroker?]
~~Get a transaxle [ideas anyone?]
~~Build a chromoly chassis/frame big enough to accommodate 4 people.
~~Make our own suspension components and make this a medium-long traveler
~~Still meet Department Of Transportation guidelines for a road legal vehicle
Main idea- Go fast, play hard, stay safe. Should this thread be moved?
