954 929 rectifier swap - wiring?

I've searched and it seems like some people says it works and others couldn't get it to work.

I have a 2000 929RR. Did all the electrical checks and I'm pretty sure I narrowed it down to the R/R. I called up the local Honda stealership and they want to rape me for a new R/R. So a friend of mine is parting out his 954RR and gave me his rectifier.

At first glance, they look similar except for one plug. My 929RR plug is a 4-pin square plug while the 954RR is a 6-pin square plug.

The 929 plug has 2 reds and 2 greens. 954 also has 2 reds and 2 greens, but also a single black wire.

Is it safe to assume that the reds/greens match each other? And just need to splice the 4-pin connector to the 954 rectifier? What is the black wire for? A ground wire?

Anyone have a 954RR wiring diagram? I already have one for my 929RR.

Thanks. This is my 1st post!

I never noticed it before but it does appear the 954 has a direct earth on the regulator in the wiring diagram.
Hard to be sure but it looks like a black or brown wire with a white or yellow trace.

The RED wires (two) are power (from ignition switch); the GREEN wires (two) are ground; the BLACK/WHITE wire heads to a common lead that goes into the ECU (lot of other pieces onto this same wire).
