High Mount on your 929 or 954?

So I'm looking at pipe options right now, and I like the look of the high mount. Do you think a round pipe looks better with high mount or oval? Thoughts? I hate to buy something and it turns out being "fugly".

I have an oval (scorpion titanium high mount) and I think it looks more sleek compared to the round. Take a look at some pics if you want...

I'm searching like crazy...does anyone even sell a high mount system any longer for this bike (954)? I thought I got a good deal, but man...I can't find many pipes out there. I really dig the devil 3/4, but tough to find.

Why don't you just mount whatever muffler you like where you want it and have a pipe made to fit it?

try talking to these guys and seeing if it is the whole 1/2 system or just a slip on for the system.

If its just the slip on, I would buy that and the midpipe setup from dude who posted with the 1/2 mount kit w/ out the slip on on this post. then you could have a high mount for under $300 brand new. not a bad deal

i hate to tell you this, but there was a few guys on ebay about a year ago selling a ton of these scorpion high mounts for dirt cheap. i saw people getting them for $200 plus shipping brand new.

my arrow system is a race mount. a bit different as some of the highmounts retain the rear peg and some dont. arrow is a diamond shaped can with steel wool packing. makes for a nice deep growl

keep watching ebay and the classifieds if u still want a high mount. since most exhaust companies go the cheapest route most cases just make a bolt on can and/or full system

devil, wolf, scorpion, and leo vince are the only names that come to mind for high mount half or 3/4 setups all of which are since discontinued.

i ended up with my arrow system out of luck, gotta love ebay

to any looking for 929/954 exhausts M4 is the only one i know of that is actually still available new.

i have called a lot of online retailers who even still show 929 exhausts on there sites only to find out they are no longer available due to the age of the bike.

hes right ive called vendors looking for one prior to going with a full sys.

whos to know, search the web you may find someone with one sitting new in a wharehouse collecting dust like i did.

929/954 had such a short run most companies stopped producing because of the demand for all the newer bikes. when u look at how fast bikes keep changing its not too suprising. an the 929 is 8-9 yr old bike with a 2yr shelf life to boot...

I found a brand new carbon scorpion hi mount with all the pipes and goodies for $300. Is that a good deal? I think they were selling the same thing in the "flame can" for less then $200 though...

Did you contact Devil? Their website shows 1/2 and 3/4 systems available.

Ideally I would find the whole high mount setup, with pipe. Like I said I found a new scorpion high mount for $300. That looks like my best bet. Most people here want $200 for a used pipe, so $300 new for everything must be a good deal. I'm in no hurry of course...just keeping an eye open. (winter stinks)

That's def. a good deal. They are very good pipes for the money. I would buy it before they decide to raise the price. Just make sure to check the part number and make sure it is the entire 1/2 system down to the HTEV and not just the slip on.

Also, the titanium and carbon fiber pipes won't burn your passenger's leg / feet, as they do not get above a luke warm temp. And, the kit comes with everything you need to bolt up to your bike, and it is a pretty simple install. Good luck with your decision.
