Re: 01 929 overheat issues

never did find the culprit. I was tired of not riding the bike, so I just went ahead and wired the switch directly to the ground on the fan switch sensor. That way I just close the circuit and turn the fan on when im coming to a light or in traffic. Im thinking that it might be the veins in the water pump, or a faulty ECT sensor at the thermostat. I rode all weekend using the switch and the bike never got close to overheating. I'm just glad to be riding again, diesel is around 2.59/gallon here and bikes are welcome in the HOV lane in Texas. Saving money and having fun, all in one.

I hear ya... Practical solution.
I would say that it buys you time so you can worry about it during the winter, but yall have even less winter than we do here.

Not to hijack, but this belief is concerning.
Personally, I have given up trying to dissuade people (including well-qualified mechanics) from believing this kind of claptrap.
