Help me decide....New CBR 1000RR

Ok guys and gals... I am ready to take the plunge. I am going to sell my beloved CBR 954RR for a new 2009 or 2010 CBR 1000... I am sad to part with my beautiful 954 but it's time for a change.

What should I ask for my 954? Should I trade it or just sell it? What should I pay for my new bike? Should I get an '09 or a '10? They seem IDENTICAL.

Help me!!!

I picked up my 08 last weekend in TN from Southern Honda. $6,983 w/ a lifetime engine warranty, they now have them listed at $7,283.

Re: Help me decide....New CBR 1000RR

I'll never understand why people would pay $5000 for a 7-year-old used bike when they can get a new unused model for $7283?

Well....probably because you can't get a 954 anymore.

Re: Help me decide....New CBR 1000RR

Get the 09... It will be dirt cheap when compared to the 10 and essentially the same bike (some minor changes and a new color scheme).... there are still brand new 08s in California going for 7K out the door... If you don't mind a few hundred bucks or so for shipping.... 09s are going out the door at around 9K here... My dealer informed me that Honda is only supplying a limited number of 2010s due to the recession... It worked out to only 2 per dealer... YIKES!

Good advice. I was already told by a dealership in Anaheim that they aren't going to have any 2010 models until January. So....it will definetely be an '09 model. Now...to get someone to buy my 954. I would rather see it go to someone who will baby it like I did.... not some stupid kid newbie that needs to be on a Ninja 250.
