08 Fireblade 190/55 rear tyre?

My 08 oil burning Ratblade came brand new with a 190/50 rear tyre. When that gave up the ghost after 7000km I had a lot of trouble sourcing a replacement (I live in the middle east) and had to bring a set (2CT's) in from the USA which cost heaps. This second set is now on the way out. However I can get 190/55's locally. Question: is a 190/55 OK on an 08 Ratblade? Are there any issues I should be aware of? Will I fall off and die?

A 190/55 will make it turn easier, works great on my 929. I suspect the speedo is a bit more accurate too.

Strange that it's easier to get 55s there, here it's easier to get 50s.

Thanks for that chaps. I'll give it a try and report back.
I didn't think of the speedo angle - does it mean I'll go faster?

No :-)
Any change to the ratios between the tyre and the crankshaft will affect the reading shown on your speedo.
A larger diameter tyre is raising your gearing so the speedo will read _slightly_ lower than it does now at the same speed.
