What sprockets interchangeable?
I have a 954 and I am shopping for chain and sprockets. Are the 1000rr and RC51 chain and sprockets interchangeable? Thanks

929/954/RC51 SP-1&SP-2 are all interchangeable, seems some early 1kRR ones are too but don't hold me to that one.

All 1000RR sprockets to at least '07 are the same as RC51/929/954.

Yes, I just looked it up and SunStar says '04-'07 CBR1kRR sprockets are the same.

Did they change the oem sprocket size on the 08 and 09 1000s becasue my bros is 42 teeth on the back instead of 43?

Wouldn't surprise me.
42 is standard outside the US on the 929/954 as well.

I didnt know that yea becasue the stock gearing over here on the 954s are 16/43 thats strange..learn something new everyday..lol So what would be better then 16/42 or the 16/43??

Depends what you want and what you're comfortable with.
I run 15/47 on the 929.

The bike is a little over-geared so you should be able to go up a tooth or two on the rear without losing any topend speed.

Only from a standstill.
Once you're moving you'll get the best acceleration by being in the correct gear for your road speed - basically not below 4000rpm.
You would need a longer chain to go up on the rear.

You would need 110 probably but it might be possible to squeeze 108 in.
