| bit of work on the VFR800 The bike is the yellow 2000 model, the best color...
I had a sudden spurt of energy today and:
1. Pulled the wheels, broke the bead, and levered off the old tires and levered on new Corsas. The rear Corsa was hard to seat! I could not get enough air pressure from the dinky little 25 cent service station air compressor to seat the bead, I had break it off into the center of the rim and then back on and use soapy water to get the bead to seat, usually not a problem. The Corsas are really flexible.. I mean reallllyyyyyyy.
2. Replaced the front pads with EBC HH and took the better set of front pads and replaced the rear pads.
3. Cleaned up everything. All the mung and gunk. Cleaned and lube the chain. Repacked the left brake caliper pivots.
4. Decided that while the wheel was off I would pull the Fox Shock and reinstall the stock shock. Did that. The Fox is going to Max at Traxxion for a revalve and larger spring.
5. Somehow managed to do all this in about three hours.
Put it all back together and took it for a ride. The Corsas are nice, particularly after the old Dunlop Iron Tires, the D220s.

| Re: bit of work on the VFR800 Likewise. I love the SV on the track. It is so much fun, and I can go fast on it. Easy to ride and almost stable.

Given your selection of bikes and your track riding ability, I would value your opinions. I'll be slow and very cautious by your standards, no racing or track days, just brisk road work with occasional long tours.

| Re: bit of work on the VFR800 Ernie I must say excellent work, and you really have an enthusiast stable there. A sport tourer, a twisty ripper, and a track bike, man you really have it down, the rest of us could learn |

I haven't done so on my Hondas, oldfogey. I find the suspension on the VFR to be comfortable, if not razor sharp... and I don't ride the CBR fast enough to justify the expense !
Many on the VFRlist* have had the forks redone by Lindemann, Race Tech, or others, and Penske or Ohlins shocks are a popular mod.
Note to all - we should post good sources of information in the interceptor knowledge base |

| Re: bit of work on the VFR800 Oldfogey, I've ridden a couple of Lindemann/Racetech'd VFR's and it's a worthwhile upgrade if you are going to ride the VFR on the track or in a sporting manner on the road. My 800 has stock suspenders, which can make it a bit of a handful on the track, I am 16 stones with gear. Still it's a lot of fun, I still bring it along occasionally just to be able to thrash the V4...highly recommended....

| Re: bit of work on the VFR800 I loved my VFR800 (RIP!)...it was a great bike on the street as well as the track. I added a Penske in the rear but the forks were stock and it still handled pretty well.
(requisite Vif pic attached...CBRVFR, NinerPilot, and Baketech comments notwithstanding ) VFR800

| Re: bit of work on the VFR800 Great photo! My hat's off to you , and if that's the standard front I'm impressed.
I've subscribed to the VFR post suggested and am thinking about winter mods...
