clear day = foggy headlight?

Hondardr had a post in which he complained about his CBR1000RR having moisture in the headlight lens after riding in the rain. I noticed moisture in the lens of my VFR this afternoon after a warm and dry ride. Is this to be expected? I've always heard to keep H2O away from halogen bulbs.

Re: clear day = foggy headlight?

I wouldn't think it is to be expected. The previous owner of my bike washed it with one of the round rubber headlight things off of it and some water got in. It did the exact same thing, would evaporate and cover the lens while running, then would condensate back to a puddle while off. It was nothing that sticking a paper towel couldn't fix though.

The only thing I know about the bulbs themselves is to make sure they are clean and don't have any fingerprints on them or they can pop.

Thanks for the reply, Hamburgler. The bikes been under the cover for two days (raining=cats+dogs). When I last checked, the moisture was gone but there were small water spots left in the bottom corner I'm just past the 600 mile mark and am debating on whether to let the dealer service it. If I take it, I'll have 'em take a look at the lens.
