| Decision no1 Well, after hanging around here a while and getting some excellent advice on where to look for VFR information, I've decided to get the VFR some Ohlins suspension . Organised through the UK VFR Club, so discounted some from normal prices, to be fitted by Harris. This will definitely be a road, brisk touring set-up.
Decision no2, whether (which, when) to buy that sports bike in addition will have to await knowledge of work bonuses to be paid in April 2005.
Thanks, .orgers for your general enthusiasm and encouragement of motorcycling enjoyment.

| Re: Decision no1 So, picked the bike up on Friday evening. First impressions on short period of riding in the cool, moist, conditions over the weekend on slippery roads is of a huge improvement in bump absorption and coordination of how the bike responds to road imperfections.
I realise before I was tensing up to some degree ahead of bumps, hollows, etc., as the front suspension went bang and transmitted that to me (and potential impact on sensitive regions which might connect with the tank), followed by a noticeably later and gentler movement from the rear suspension. The bike now seems to take all this in its stride, moving in a coherent way and flowing. That allows me to concentrate more of the riding.
As I say, haven't ridden quickly to check cornering capacity yet, and in some ways it seems softer, though more coherent.

| Re: Decision no1 So when did Ohlins start making forks for the VFR? I know they make the shock, and have for quite some time. Did you just replace the internals in the forks or what? |

| Re: Decision no1 Yes, just the internals and oil plus the rear unit, not full forks. Still enjoying the new bike sensations, though greasy / salty / crowded roads and time limitations haven't allowed me to test the capabilities yet. No regrets.
