85 vf 500 help???

85 vf 500 help???

ok, ive got an 85 vfr 500, it just quit the other day, well i swapped the spark plugs and have full fuel. so i go to start it and it still wont start, i pulled the choke and it would start and then when i let the choke off it would go down to 1500 rpm and then just quit if i tried to give it any kind of throttle. now the choke wont even help me get it started??? whats going on here guys, anyone have any suggestions or any advice??????

Agree with ND assuming it has ntot been sitting up for a long time. If it has it might be old gas also (long being 1yr ish or more)

Sounds like the petcock may be giving you some trouble. Have you pulled the fuel line off going to the carbs to make sure there's gas while cranking? Join this group and ask there. Lots of guys with experience there: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/VF500F_Interceptor/
