A bit of a late response, but I know the answer: Resident List Squid.

Directly applicable to the gent to your right in the photo : ) In fact IIRC the term was coined explicitly for him... when he had a Gen 4 VFR, before the three CBR929s, and the BMW LT...

I definitely remember that also, and the event in which the photos were taken. See my view of your pic 4, from my gallery.

BTW, there are at least 3 .orgers in that picture. Rutland was definitely and interesting event.

Niner, I can't believe you didn't post the infamous wheelie pic when talking about RLS!

I recall my feelings when I saw those pics..."Damn, I wish I didn't live so fricking far away! "

So why didn't you follow him to the LT?

Bill really made a name for himself at that WDGH-Rutland event. I still remember watching him demonstrate very small circles in the parking lot while holding a conversation with me about how stable the 929 is and how easy it is to maneuver in NYC traffic.

Sounds like Bill... I think he made a few names for himself over the years. There seems to be a few of the original 'Hussey's Hooligans' here too : )

My favourite Hussey yarn - by far - is still the 'CBR929 reins' story... although it take a bit of work to sift through them all, what with the riding on snow stories, solo stranding on Blue Ridge Parkway story, WDGAH waitress stories...

Yep remember some of those, and even discussed a couple over beers a couple WDGH's ago.

The boy did take a lot of effort into learning to ride and practicing the skills though. He has a lot of parking lot practice backing up his abilities.

They guy on the right in picture 2, next to Niner. Lived on Long Island (I think, he is moving now) and does daily commutes on the bike into Manhattan ... all year round. Part of a VFR mailing list and is quite the character .... good guy and great rider, if not a little squidly.

With all those red VFR's one would think that Honda sold you guys a way of life... Was Honda stealing ideas from Harley at the time?

You really do meet the nicest people on a Honda...

Those were truly some fun times.

Still kind of active, but not the same since the VTECs came out. Kind of split the herd .... those guys just can't take a joke.

Yep, however most of the serious VFR discussion these days happens at, funnily enough, www.vfrdiscussion.com, a most excellent forum. The big list doesn't have the technical content that it used to.

The arrival of OzVFR and other smaller lists like Bay Area VFR also sapped the big list of a lot of interesting people, and speaking of, Bird is actually on the big list of late, he still has a soft spot for the VFR but seems to have toned his 'vigour' down a bit. Maybe because he's a dad now.

Bill Hussey is now Bill Ng, by the way - name changed by marriage.
