Valve adjustment on current VFR

Hello, I just registered, I´m from Portugal and have been riding for two years now, on a Transalp 650.

I´m seriously thinking of trading my bike and a VFR or CBR900RR are two of the options, what I´ld like to know is how much of a bother is adjusting the valves in the rear cylinders of the current generation VFR´s engine.

Thanks for the help.

Welcome, Portuguese Pete!

I don't have a Vtec VFR, so I can't help you directly on your question. It has been discussed at length on the Vfrdiscussion.com site, as weell as the old vfr list, which has extensive searchable archives.

Re: Valve adjustment on current VFR

Some VTEC owners indicated they never plan to adjust them. If history holds, the valves typically don't need adjustment at their first interval, and have a fairly long interval. Definitely check out the discussions and decide for yourself.

I haven't seen how the rear cylinders sit on the current VFR, but on my '94, the rears are the easy ones to get to because they are wide open when the tank is off. The fronts get a little tight in the frame because it is higher there.

Welcome to the site. Always liked the Transalp.
