| 98 VFR Fork swap? any ideas? Just had an encounter of the painful kind with a guardrail. The pain is in my pride and my bike. Bent the crap out of the front fork tubes and jacked my right knee up pretty good as well.
I live in Thailand and parts are hard to come by so was wondering if anyone knows of any swaps that I could make with other models? Need help! |

| Re: 98 VFR Fork swap? any ideas? I replaced mine with VTR forks; also 41mm and lost the linked brakes. I have a set of like new '01 VFR forks that will replace yours if interested. |

| Re: 98 VFR Fork swap? any ideas? Thanks for the reply Waldrm. My mechanic here in Thailand is searching his network for a used set and should know in a day or so. I guess I also bent the wheel and one disc.
What are you asking for the 01 forks? I have a friend coming from the states soon and he could bring them to me. |

| Re: 98 VFR Fork swap? any ideas? wldrm, is the front end still for sale? I have a 98 vfr that got smashed as well. It was a bad incident, I wasnt involved but the rider didnt survive, so i'm seeing if we can repair the bike enough to sell as a runner. It runs just fine, but needs a complete front end. |

| Re: 98 VFR Fork swap? any ideas? I sold that front end but if you want to do a budget bike I have another front end from a '93. You will lose the linked brakes but it is 41mm legs like the '98 and correct spring rate for a VFR. Forks, steering clamps, wheel, rotors, calipers, and front fender (red) for $200.00. |
