84 interceptor motor swap

I aquired a 1984 interceptor 500f. i only paid $50 for and its not that bad of a bike. but the motor/tranny is junk. and before i go pick up a new 500 i was wundering if a 750 from the samebike/year would fit in the frame with little work.
