| Engine won't run I partially rebuilt an engine off a 1983 VF750F. Now it won't run. /it smokes and sputters out of 2 cylinders, but the other bank keeps shooting smoke and backfiring out of the carbs. On this pair of cylinders, one cylinder has low compression (60psi). None of the valves have been adjusted. Are the valves the reason I can't get it to start? | |

| Re: Engine won't run There is a lot of oil in the cylinders because the engine sat for a while when I was getting parts. I dumped oil into the cylinder so it would get down into the crankshaft bearings and loosen them so the starter motor would turn it over. I clean the plugs quite often when I've been trying to start it. Does anyone know how to get oil out of the cylinders? |
