PhotoShop Time - 2007 RWB (White Wheels)

I posted this over at VFRD and thought it may be of some interest here as well. I think one big reason that Honda doesn't sell as many VFR's in the US compared to CBR's is primarily due to the styling. They always mess something up! In this case I think it was the wheel color. It just interrupts the styling of an anniversary bike. So without further ado, here we go.

I like that Honda decided to do the throw-back Red White & Blue color scheme on the 2007 VFR. Just for the record... I really woulda just liked a whole new Viffer instead, but hey this is a good way to prolong the current generation according to Honda. That's a whole nother topic tho!

Now I swear I seen someone do it up at VFRD before the model was actually debuted by Honda in 2007. Does that mean that Honda designers might actually read this forum? Let's hope so! So anyhow, I've seen a lot of people with pics of their '07 RWB's on VFRD, but nobody is really moddin them out. I mean it's not like Honda got it perfect on the overall look of the 25th anniversary VFR. I personally wish they woulda went with white wheels. It definitely woulda flowed better than the all black wheel that they commonly used. This was the all-out model anyway!

So I searched and searched and really never found anything. I was gonna ask someone here to do a photoshop just to see what it'd look like with white wheels instead. However I hate waiting! So I decided to do it myself. Now I am by no means a Photoshop guru people. It's a hobby at best. I think this one turned out pretty good tho, so I'm gonna post it here for anyone else who thinks the white woulda sealed the deal. Lemme know what ya guys think.

The Original Factory VFR is on the left with the black wheels and ugly fender. The way I feel it shoulda came from the factory is on the right (sans fender ).

Hmmm blue wheels? Kinda similar to the newer Gixxers. That's an idea. You see it's tough to see that workin as well as the white cuz it flows perfectly with the white in the middle of the fairing. Might make the bike seem a little heavier if you know what I mean... and if you own a VFR you know that it's heavy enough already lol! If I get some extra time and it ends up comin out good, I'll update the poll. Gotta love that SSSA in white.

Thanks for the props!

Ask and you will receive! Blue wheels don't look too bad either. No need for a photoshop... here's the real thing.

It does look way better with the chopped fender. As for the wheels, I can't really say which I like better, white or black...definitely not the blue.

On the 6th gen of the VFR, I gotta say, the biggest thing on styling that I don't like is when you're standing in front of it looking at it....it just looks so freaking tall! Not sleek at all!

Keep in mind this is just looks. If we get into mechanics of the bike, I could write so much much more.

Idk. Can't say I'm a big fan of different colored wheels. I have seen it done before and it might work halfway decent here since the front is heavy on White and the back on the Blue. I do have to admit that I like the Blue a little better than the factory choice of Black. I'm a guy who thinks wheels can make or break a vehicle. I think an anniversary bike like this proves it!

If I come up with something that looks good, I'll post it here for sure. Til then... Poll on!

I'd say white in this case only because it suits the beautiful anniversary color scheme. My fav wheel color has always been the gold like the marchessini's have. Not the bright but a matt gold. Black like on my RR is very bland with no contrast from the tires. Nice job on the pics MetalHedd.

I have to agree that the thing the Anniversary needs (besides a reversion to pre-VTech specs ;-0) is gold wheeks. Nothing says sexy (or vintage racing)like the matte gold... I for one would love to see the viffer in RC-30 livery.. having only gotten the chance to see one up close a few times, it is just the prettiest Honda paint I have seen.
