VFR clutch not disengaging!

Hey, so I go to start my '98 VFR to go out for a ride and I go to put it into neutral to start the bike, and it won't go into neutral when I pull in the clutch. After I managed to get it in neutral, I started the bike and pulled in the clutch and put it in gear. As soon as I did, it lurched forward an inch and stalled. So like I thought, the clutch isn't disengaging. ANY ADVICE???

Hate to point out the obvious, and you've probably already checked, but make sure that there is fluid in the reservoir.

^^ What he said...

I had a similar problem with my Consul (1960 Classic), but it was because of the Clutch Master and slave cylinder rubbers being perished and letting by.

Re: VFR clutch not disengaging!

I forgot to say I had this problem at 9pm when it was dark out. I took a look at it this morning and realized that it was practically empty in the reservoir. So... today, I bought some DOT 3 fluid and bled the clutch. The VFR runs like a champ again! I will say though, when you're all dressed up in riding gear and uncover your bike to go for a nice night ride and she doesn't go into first gear.... it's very frustrating!
