| Do honda interceptor 500's run hot? I went on a long ride and the bike kept stalling and the temperature guage was reading H for most of the ride. Did not smell coolant, but fan was slow to come on. Does this always happen? Should I add coolant and how do I add it to the bike?
Thanks Mike |

| Re: Do honda interceptor 500's run hot? All Hondas I've ever seen run hot, but if it was stalling and the gauge was in the red, I'd change your coolant (it degrades every two years or so) and verify that your fan start switch is coming on at the right temp. Service manual will help with finding everything, I've never hada VFR so I can't help ya there. |

| Re: Do honda interceptor 500's run hot? They do run a bit on the hot side if it is 100F+ outside and you're in start-and-stop traffic.
It shouldn't run hot enough to stall, though. |

| Re: Do honda interceptor 500's run hot? mine always kinda ran a little warm. oil changes and coolant flushes are defintely on the top of the list, water wetter really helps out quite a bit. there were a few small things i did to my 85 that really help out tons
. IE i removed the block plate in front of the carbs removed cowling for radiator cut small slits in side plastics water wetter |

| Re: Do honda interceptor 500's run hot? I found that Water Wetter didn't help.
(both with antifreeze mix and pure water) |

| Re: Do honda interceptor 500's run hot? I just recently purchased an 84' "Miniceptor" and had the exact same problem. I found that my carbs were set out of balance on the mixture. I retuned to about 2 full turns and she smoothed right out. |
