Dumb Question???

How Do You Change The Head Light Bulb On The Viffers??
Is There an L.E.D Kit for the VFR"s I think it would look sharp for the back set of lights and front signals.
Thanks Paul

Re: Dumb Question???

I don't know about the '05. I owned a '98 model.

On the '98, the bulbs had a dust/moisture cover. Pull that cover back and you'll see a locking lever holding the bulb in place. One side hooks down - depress the lever and move it out from over the bulb. Don't know if this helps on the '05 model..

Bulbs are halogen, so you'll want to be careful handling the new one.

Oh yeah - no dumb question.

Re: Dumb Question???

Access on the '05 is the challenge.. Getting the fairings off to do the oil change was a challenge. Honda has everything fit so perfectly it is a pain in the A*S to remove and install. Been on the back of many bikes, IMO Honda provides the best all around package.

Re: Dumb Question???

easiest way is to turn the bars left to get to the right bulb and to the right to get to the left bulb...most room you'll get with-out dissasembly.

No room looked at that approach..
My hands are not even close to the size of the hands that build this. ( Not Good in Small Spaces).

Re: Dumb Question???

Paul,I've got an '03, 6th gen. VFR just like yours. Unless Honda changed the shape of the instrument binnacle subframe on your '05,you should have easy access to the back of the lower headlight bulbs. I swapped the stock 55/60watt bulbs for 80/100watt bulbs, and had no access problems at all. They remove exactly the way Muddysteel described. You have to remove the side panel, and little winglet panel by the dash to swap out the upper bulbs though. If the oil cooler is in the way, there's one bolt behind the cooler on either side of it that secures it to the subframe. Drop the oil cooler down out of your way. Put a soft towel over your front fender first. BTW, I'm with you on that stupid P.I.T.A. side panel/oil change deal. Hope this helps you. Remember, you're not braking til your rear wheel's lifting, until then you're just slowing down.

Paul, don't be too hard on yourself for having big hands. It sounds as though you're just like my buddy Rob. I swear,he doesn't wear riding gloves,he wears OVEN MITTS! LOL.
