check this out....hope it helps.
also, if it's running hot, it could also be the fuse that runs the fan, temp switch or if he changed the coolant, a possible air pocket.

| Re: 2006 VFR 800 Thermostat He thinks the thermo is stick open because the bike is running cooler than normal. Bike has 10k and he never has changed the coolant. You think maybe it could be something else? |

| Re: 2006 VFR 800 Thermostat What is it running at? If it is at or above the thermostat opening point, then there is no issue. |

| Re: 2006 VFR 800 Thermostat The VFR 800 2002 i own runs around 90'c to 98'c around 200'f during the hot season. Cooler season between 80-90'c around 170'f.
Never had any issues. To me those Stats you mention sound Ok
Fans come on around 105'c (225'f) if you sit to long. like in traffic. If they are staying on you do have an issue.
Check the coolant bottle which is located on the inside NS Fairing which you can see from looking between the fairing and the chassis, makin sure the coolant in that bottles is between the 2 marks that are on it.
Hope this Assists.
