Re: New clutch slipping

Was it slipping prior to the new clutch install?

Are you absolutely sure the same number of plates went in, that came out?

Re: New clutch slipping

Did you chuck the verniers over the plate stack and springs? I put an EBC kit in my 893 recently to replace a slipping clutch, both the plate stack and springs were shorter than what came out. I think i ended up reusing the standard springs - or was it the standard metal plates? - Cant remember - i wish i didn't smoke so much pot when i was young, lol.
I'd have to check, got it all sitting in oil in a tupperware on the shelf. But it doesnt slip.
With your cable adjustment - have you got some slack when you release the lever? You dont want tension on that when you're not on the lever.

Re: New clutch slipping

So initially it could have been the cable. Might want to get one just because.

Typically the cable will be overstretched and the clutch will fail to disengage and will drag the bike, causing the engine to stall at full stops and die. Thanks for diagnosing my F4i - it will likely need a new cable soon as it's draggy.

In the case of a new clutch slipping my first thoughts are:
  1. Were the plates installed in the correct order?
  2. Were the plates soaked in oil prior to installation?
