Nothing like the sweet smell of a 6hr ride in the heat |

Janet is the one you're speaking of regarding the CAT fix, she's over in the U.K. and HondaUK worked the issue, the fix involved a CAT AND a new ECU...this fix has not been sanctioned for Honda, nor is it a factory approved fix, if you contact Honda N.A. they pretty much deny any knowledge of an issue...
you can accomplish much the same w/ a PC3 and adding a CAT if you like...
another option is exhaust end cap extensions...i'm workin on a 919 HowTo Page , but there are notes in several of the 919 forums

| Re: Exhaust Stink Both VP Fuels and Torco Racing Fuels make a fuel fragrance.
A better suggestion would be for you to just suck it up and accept the fuel smell as part of the riding experience.
What are you going ask for next, to ride without wind noise? |

| Re: Exhaust Stink Go to a muffler shop and have them make a pair of exhaust extentions for your stock cans. I can't remember what size aluminized steel they started out with, then he flaired one end just big enough for a tight fit when slipped over your existing muffler extention. The other end got a 45 degree slash cut. Polish them long enough and they look like stainless. Very good match. After you're done with the polishing, JB weld them in place while on the bike, just to make sure they're absolutely the way you want them. Then you'll have to take the mufflers off the bike and back to the muffler shop to get them welded for good. Mine are about 5 inches on the long side. Zero smell. |

| Re: Exhaust Stink Well, one thing's for sure, it's unique. I still have no idea how that would or could cut down on the exhaust smelling though. The air is still going to draft up and around. |

| Re: Exhaust Stink They work and quite well, thank you. Before the extentions, Silver was constantly getting exhaust residue on it. No more mess, no more smell. Period. I hate high exhaust. WTF were they thinking? No, my extentions aren't as impressive as a pair of $600 Sato's, but I still have my $600. |
