CB1300 Servicing

Is this right, the little book that came with my bike has the service schedule in it. From what I can tell the oil and filter are only changed every 12000kms does this sound right to you guys???

No, 7500 miles, and isn't that about what our US Honda manuals recommend?

Whether using organic or synthetic oil, I've always changed oil and filter at roughly 3,000 miles, though you can safely double that with synthetic. Even 3,000 with organic is really overkill, but relatively inexpensive insurance.

What you really need to do with that 1300, though, is ship it to me so I can take a look at it and give you the final word on what to do. I really wish we got that bike here in the States.

Thanks guys. I think I will split the difference and change oil and filter every 6000kms. Cheap peace of mind eh!!!

Re: CB1300 Servicing

I go for about 4-5000 miles on my 919. If I changed every 3000, I'd be changing about every 2 months. That seems excessive to me.
