Hornet 900 engine skip

Hi guyz, I know there are many experts in this community and I would badly need Your advice. My Hornet 900 started to behave in a weird way
Sometimes at about 9000 RPM the engine skips for a second and the FI and the HISS indicators are lit for a while. None of them seemed to be blinking. It feels like a sudden engine brake and then she runs again smoothly. It is quite embarassing and dangerous. Also it does not happen all the time. I took her to the service but they couldn't find any error codes.
Do you have any ideas or similar experience? Any advice are welcome!

I have an '03 919 and mine started to do the same thing, first thing i did was get a new set of plugs. Then in the cover that covers the airbox there is a vacuum accuated flap of some sort, I just unplugged the vacuum line and stuck a bolt in the vaccuum line to the throttle bodies, and my FI light has yet to come on after doing all this about 7000 mile ago. Lemme know how it turns out, I got a bunch a buddies that can figure it out if that isn't it.

Re: Hornet 900 engine skip

At Honda service they suspected the alarm I have, thus I've wrapped the alamr's box into a thick piece of sponge. Also I've checked the fuses and connectors. The problem started to tail-off and since a week I haven't had it. Althoguh I cannot be sure because it happened rarely before as well.
I suspected the fuel tank because it was replaced due to an unfortunate crash and I was told that it is treated with some stuff which can cause problems with the injectors. I dunno if it's true...

The tube you plugged was the flapper. It controls the amount of air going into the engine.

E.g. on my Fireblade, it would kick in about 5000-7000 revs and only allow about 65% of air through. This was Honda's way to stop engine noise. By pluging it, you will have stopped the limiter and now be getting 100% air at all times. (Increases the power)

I would change the plugs and while im at it, do a complete service. Im a bit mad so i would end up stripping the bike down, changing the plugs, leads, oil, filters, fluids etc.
