Sato carbon slip-ons and PCIII prices?

Just wondering where I should look for the best prices on a set of Sato carbon slip-ons and a PCIII? I'm thinking of Kyle racing, but they are selling both for over a grand. I'd like to be in the $875 range. Any suggestions?

Re: Sato carbon slip-ons and PCIII prices?

I shopped around for these two pieces last Fall. I never found new stuff for the combined price you're looking for -- the Satos run around $700 and the PCIII around $275. I was able to find a set of used Satos for $500 but ended up getting a new PCIII from Dan Kyle. Used Satos don't come on the market too often but keep your eyes open on eBay and over on wristtwisters.com for your best shot at some.

Re: Sato carbon slip-ons and PCIII prices?

Thanks KenB. I ended up getting both the carbon Sato slip-ons and the mapped PCIII from Kyle racing for $975 which includes shipping from the left coast to the right. I hate spending that much, but I couldn't get it out of my head. Seems like a decent price, though, after I did more research. CAN'T WAIT to install it next week!!!

You won't be disappointed. In fact, after you hear the throaty growl of the Satos, your face will hurt from the permagrin you'll have. Make sure you ask Dan to ship his special 919/Sato map for the PCIII with your order -- they'll throw it right on the PCIII for you at no charge. It's a great map that many of us use and really like a lot.

You must post some pics and post your impressions when you get it all together!

Re: Sato carbon slip-ons and PCIII prices?

Thanks again KenB
I'm going to call Kyle racing back just to double check if they mapped the PCIII for the 919/Sato. I'll post some pics of my bike soon. I haven't seen another 919 that looks like mine. Whenever I ride, no one knows what it is (and I like that!).

2003 Honda 919
- Big Bike belly pan (matched paint)
- Bike Side B3 fairing (matched paint)
- Gimbel solo seat (matched paint)
- Custom under seat tray
- Sato crash protectors
- Kellerman bar-end signals
(all stock signals removed)
- Hesa bar-end mirrors
- Hagen low-rise handle bar
- K+N filter
- Amsoil synthetics
- Sato carbon slip-ons + Kyle mapped PCIII coming soon!!
- Rear sets coming soon (I should be done then?)

Nice looking 919 Ken! Why didn't you install the Sato rear sets? I'd like to get some feedback on them. Well heres a shot of my bike that I just took out in the shed. Needs a good cleaning though. I'll post some more pics when I get the Sato's on there. I also put a pic of my other hobby vehicle (needs a good cleaning also).Attachment 24995

Re: Sato carbon slip-ons and PCIII prices?

Nice bike - love that fairing!

The rear sets are on my list but I'm holding off. My daughter still like sto ride with me occasionally and to get the rear sets with the passenger set is a $700 hit that I'm not wanting to take right now. And the passenger setup looks cheesy to me. Probably will wait on this until I don't have any 2-up riding in the future. Would love to hear your impression of them though - I've heard nothing but great things about them!

Re: Sato carbon slip-ons and PCIII prices?

I just received my new Sato's and PCIII today I've already installed them and they look and sound GREAT! I took it for a spin tonight and noticed a big difference in throttle response and overall pull. I love how they sound, perfect I'll get some pics tomorrow and post them.
KenB - I've seen other companies that make nice looking rear sets for the 919. I agree, the Sato rear sets do look kind of cheesy. Check out Wild Hair Accessories.com. They have a bunch of cool parts for the 919. Also Rizoma.com

This is off subject but if you want a better exhaust note and you want to save some money you can try removing the baffle economies on the pipes. The guy that owned my 919 before did that and it sounds like a after market pipe.

I did the bafflectomy on mine,it's allright a little louder than I wanted. I just installed an akrapovic TI. slip on set up .The akra's have a much nicer sound,if any one want's the stock modified muffler's I'll swap them for stock one's.
