| Just Joined - I just joined today and wanted to post to say "hello". I bought an 06 919 last year and just dumped it. Came over a blind hill, saw the fuzz with lights on, hit the front brake and the rest is history. Got some nice road rash, a high ankle sprain, and some bruised ego, and renewed respect for pavement.
Put on a new carbon fiber front fender, suburan machinery handle bars, crg bar end mirrors, and a new alternator cover. The problem is, after the alternator cover install it won't start. I saw the thread about the tipping switch but don't know if anyone figured it out. Help! thanks |

| Re: Just Joined - Normally the tip over switch is reset when you upright the bike and turn the key off and back on. Doesn't sound as if the switch is your problem. As I don't know much about the 919, is it fuel injected? If so, does the fuel pump run when you put your run/kill switch to run with the key on. Have you checked for spark? Anyways, welcome to the ORG! |

| Re: Just Joined - OK! Thanks for the welcomes. The story goes like this...It was the first really nice day, sunny, I warmed up my bike, put on all my gear (after thinking twice about the boots) and launched up the hill by my house. I ripped up first, got some meat in second and saw the fuzz sitting on the side of the road with his lights on. He was there because a crosswalk guard was out sick, the lights had zero to do with me...anyway I mashed the front brake and took a good flop at about 40. Landed on the left side, 2k worth of parts. Po Po launched into reverse and told me I was crazy because there was nothing there and I wiped. He checked out my knee minus all the skin and asked me if I was going to make him fill out paper work. I said "no" and got my bike back to my house and drove my car to the ER where I met someone who just shot him himself in the leg (in the hood yo). If I wasn't wearing boots I would have sheared a good 1/4" off my ankle bone. I lived to tell the story... |

| Re: Just Joined - Wow, no "failure to control" or "wreckless op"? Maybe the cop felt that you suffered enough with the wreck itself? Hey J, have you ever thought about that accident of being kinda like when you're walking along and trip on something, look back and there is nothing there for you to have tripped on? Glad you are all right, and hope the rebuild goes well for ya! |

| Re: Just Joined - No, no paperwork, the cop thought it was amusing. Yeah its exactly like tripping on carpet. Rebuild is going good, just need to do the headlight and signals.
I figured out the alternator problem. When you take the cover off the reduction gear and shaft slide down about 1/2 and need to reseated. No biggy. |

| Re: Just Joined - Damn startle reflex , I just joined myself because there is not much out there for us 919 guys. I am surprised actually at how thriving the community is here. I have a mostly stock 02, 919 and am thinking of doing some basic mods
