919 Sprocket conversion?

I am rebuilding my wrecked 919 and the project is almost complete but I was thinking while I am at it I might change up my sprockets. I have been half heartedly looking into it online. I found a complete kit online that would take it one down in the front and 2 up in the rear... Does anyone have any knowledge on the subject? Let me know

15 / 45 - fun for around town, a bit tiresome on the interstate because it bumps your cruising rpm's up about +500 rpm

the downside of the mod almost outweighs the upside....almost but not quite

so you run it on your 919... Is it hard to keep the nose down ... how much of an attitude change does it really make????

Re: 919 Sprocket conversion?

1st gear is mental
2nd gear wakes up pretty darn well

running thru the gears happens a bit faster

folks that have ridden w/ me for several years made unsolicited comments about the increase in 'quickness' as they followed me around

it's a good value mod and something should be done by anyone lookin to get "more performance" out of 919 rather than lookin down the road of silly expensive mods (complete nutters excused)

Re: 919 Sprocket conversion?

cool the biggest thing i have been warned about is that in situations like interstate rides is that the bike is going to be more buzzy in the top end

Re: 919 Sprocket conversion?

You'll gain noticeable stoplight performance with the one tooth smaller front sprocket and with the money you save by not spending a small mortgage on dual Akropovic cans to get the same performance bump, you can buy quite a few back tires! (You'll need them!)

i ride a 98 900rr, one down in the front with the stock teeth in the rear hit the spot for me, more power but not so much buzz on the highway
