| Undertail options for the 919 Are there any? Having a hell of a time finding one. Reason I ask is because my stock one the right side mount hole that the hex head bolt goes through is broken (hole is split, bolt slides out) and is all hanging and scratching up my tail . Any help is appreciated. |

| Re: Undertail options for the 919 I have a Jardine Supersport Fender Eliminator on mine, way smaller than stock but still uses factory signals. Easy to install. Also Competition Works (Werks?) makes one that's smaller than the Jardine but it uses smaller signals. Those are the only two options I am aware but there may be more available now.
If I understand you correctly the mounting location on your bike is busted, the Jardine uses the factory mount locations so you will have to fix that first. I'm not sure about the CW eliminator. If the plastic on your bike is busted at mounting hole try to use a big washer (fender washer-available at Fastenal and most electrical supply stores), otherwise maybe try to use a good two part expoxy to fuse it back together then use an oversized washer as a precautionary measure to help keep it from coming back apart.
Hope this helps. |

| Re: Undertail options for the 919 I went with an easier solution. Remove the snow shovel from the rear end. Install a tail light / turn signal light LED. Cut a piece of angle iron to hang the plate. Cheaper than the kits and looks better too. Good luck! |

SuperSneakySteve went this route also and has posted some video on Utoooob showing what he did.
XRsteve - I don't have a digital camera or I'd post a pic but basically it's a black aluminum plate that allows the license plate to be mounted in the same location as factory and the factory signal mounts are hidden behind the plate. There is room above the where the license plate mounts to mount the tag light if you're interested in keeping it. It does not extend below or out to sides behind the license plate. I went this route because I wanted to use the factory signals and also have room to mount my tag light. 100% better than factory flap but if you're going to use aftermarket signals I would recommend the Competition Werks. If you're thinking about an integrated tail light/turn signal I'd make one out of aluminum angle. Just my 2 cents. |

| Re: Undertail options for the 919 Made mine from a 3/16" of aluminum stock 3/4" x license plate width. Attached it to the flat area of the OEM undertail below the tail light. For a clean look, the smoke tail light is an LED Clear Alternatives with integrated signals. Then I finished it off with a DRC micro LED strip license plate light, so small you can't see it. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1.../919_done5.jpg

| Re: Undertail options for the 919 My bad. I t was aluminum and not iron. SS Steve made up a batch of them and sold them for the cost of shipping last Winter. It worked great. At one point I moved the plate up under the seat but the road spray started to take a toll on the tail light and rear cowling so I put the plate back. That's why it's angled out the way it is in the photo above. |

| Re: Undertail options for the 919 The Jardine kit looks good. I think that's what I'm going to get.
BTW, MaxwellEdison, are you majoring in medicine?
I wonder how many people get that. |

| Re: Undertail options for the 919 I installed a Jardine supersport kit on my 06 919 a few weeks back. It was a fairly simple install, except I had to use a hole saw to make a hole for my stock license plate lamp. It turned out pretty good, so I thought I'd share some pictures. |

| Re: Undertail options for the 919 so has anyone had any experience with actual "undertails" or just the fender eliminators. i saw that Pyramid makes one for the 919 but haven't seen any applications of it other than the one picture they provide. |
