| 919 vs minivan - using a motorcycle jack 919 Hey guys. I've been checking out the threads here since I got an awesome deal on my new '06 919 last May. I figured now I'd join up finally and stop being such a 'voyeur'.
Anyway, like the rest of you, I LOVE my 919. Best bike I've ridden. My first bike (16 years ago) was an '82 Nighthawk 450 and I loved that thing. The nostalgia for that thing kind of sealed the deal on my choice to go with the 919. That and the fact that this thing is Fast, Comfortable, and looks amazing.
A month and a half after I got it I did a 2000k+ tour through the Rockies from Calgary to the Okanagan. If you've never ridden the Okanagan in British Columbia - DO.
And then....about a month later I had a run in with a minivan at an uncontrolled intersection. (Long story. It sucked). Bent the fork top tubes a little, bent the bars, the rest was cosmetic damage.
Anyway, I kept checking the forums for upgrades/mods that guys have done and liked. I figured if I was gonna fix her back up, I might as well do some upgrades too.
I just received my new titanium SATO's, Renthal ultra-lows, CRG mirrors, new grips, replacment factory '06 forks, and the new cowl and fender. I'll stick some photos up once I'm done. Those exhausts are beautiful. Can't wait to ride 'em. (need the PC still though). Anyone run these cans without adding a PC? Notice much difference?
One other question - using a motorcyle jack on the 919 - anyone got any tips before I rig up a way to lift the thing without bending the exhaust?
Thanks! |
