Missing gears?

Has anybody experienced their 919 missing a shift? I mean the bike seems to have another neutral between 4th and 5th. It's happened to me twice, but it could very well be me not shifting firmly enough.

Re: Missing gears?

Try adjusting your shifter. I had the same problem going grom first to second at low rpm. Adjusted the shifter down a little and focused on more deliberate shifts, no problems since.

Re: Missing gears?

I've experienced the same problem, same timing (4th to 5th). I've found it's usually right after I adjust the chain, and I'm thinking it might be because I'm tightening it a little bit too much.

Re: Missing gears?

Cd also be the tabs on your shifter rod that moves the star around.. Sometimes the tabs are worn and you get a false neutral on the bike.. Happened to mine on my 96 900 RR which has the 919 motor in it.

Re: Missing gears?

If it's new it's not broke in yet. Also lube the chain with some light chain oil and see if that helps.
