919 starter problems

Here's the deal...I started up my bike and let it warm up for about 10 min. I then shut it off when I realized I had to put on my new license plate tabs. I went to start it back up less than 30 sec. later and it wouldnt start. The lights turned on but i noticed the fuel pump also was not working. Any ideas or advice???
thanks
eric

Fuel pump fuse?

Within 30 secs, you may still have had sufficient fuel pressure to not require the fuel pump to run again.

If the side-stand was down and in gear, that will also prevent the bike from starting.

Yea, I know... those are all no-brainers. I highly recommend that you check all those really simple things before you tear into something bigger.

Re: 919 starter problems

Thanks for the help...it turns out it was just a loose connection to the kill switch

Re: 919 starter problems

There seems to be an increasing amount of problems with those kill switches.

While its all open, make sure the contacts are nice and proper and add some grease to keep the moisture away from it.
