Tip over sensor

Hello.
I'm just starting to learn wheelies and things on my Hornet 900. I was considerably fine with it until last night when I think I got just a bit past the balance point and almost fell on my back.
Now I saw something called tip over switch tilt lean bank sensor on ebay and I'm wondering if it's going to do any good. If it's counting on revs, will it not decrease the top speed or the accelaration ability of the bike? I also have a Power Commander and I'm not sure if this sensor won't make it defunctional. I guess not, but I decided to bring shame on me and ask, just to be sure

Oh... I think I got it all wrong. That tip over switch tilt lean bank sensor... I thought it was like anti loop. But it's not, right? I don't think I need it then...

Re: Tip over sensor

the sensor works to shut off the ignition system in the event of an accident where the bike falls on it's side. thats all, it would not affect wheelies because that is a straight up action, however, if you lost it doing a wheelie and it eventualy fall on it's side, the switch would kill the engine to prevent further damage.

You should already have one on your bike as a safety measure from the factory. I may be wrong as I'm not well versed all bikes, but on my 954 it's located (hidden) behind the speedometer. I found it when I was putting my bike back together. I believe they remove power to the fuel pump when the lean angle is greater than 60 degrees from the vertical. I've learned on here that if you are having problems getting power to the fuel pump, it's one of the checks.

Re: Tip over sensor

It shouldn't affect the bike tbh, unless it suspects the bike has "tipped" over when its on the back wheel - then you could have a problem.

Just a gentle reminder - part of rule #8 states:

We have no tolerance for street stunters, street racers, or anyone else who gives motorcyclists a bad image.
Have you added a crash cage etc? The bars on the 919s were not the strongest tbh - and can dig into the tank if bent hard enough.
