I bought new front indicators and hand to remove headlight from its place to get to the old indicator nuts....Anywho the 2 nuts that are inside the headlight assembly that hold the headlight on the bike are all waked out n out of place and i can't get the screws to catch.... SO! I have to open this baby up and to fix but my problem is that I CAN'T GET THE THING OPEN...I'm sure its really simple i just don't wanna F anything up...

if it's a plastic headlight then people here have had success in heating the seams of the plasitc and softening the glue up enough to split it apart. do a search and you'll find more info.

Do a search on XRU forum... it is X-runner underground. It is a Toyota truck forum. They tell how to do it on the trucks...it involves heating it in an oven for a few minuets but I can't remember the temp or exactly how long. My buddy did it successfully on his truck.

The 919 should have a screw on type headlamp? If i can recall correctly, the rear "basket" comes off with a few screws (it hides all of the wiring) and then you can gain access to the rear of the headlamp - can you not just unscrew it or is it the stuck type?

Two small screws on the underside of the headlight basket that are removable by phillips head screws . Then lift the headlight ring and pull it outward. There is a little lip at the top of the basket that holds it together.

Yeah when I recently bought my 919, I decided to take off the windshield as it looked out of place. Doing so meant to loosen some screws on the side of the headlight. One of the screws was not catching on anything inside the light, so I had to go inside the light. Easily done, just two screws on the lower part of the light. It goes back on just as easily. Believe me, I am a city boy with little to no mechanical experience, and if I found it easy, anybody would.
