| Torque spec question (919) Rear brake calipers. Hey guys I Just finished putting a new set of Diablo's on my 919er. I got a little quick and took the rear caliper off the mounting bracket. No need in taking it off the bracket, it comes off when you remove the tire. . The rear has two bolts .A 12mm and a 14mm . The front caliper specs are 22Ft lbs . Since I didn't have the info for the rears I just torqued them 22Ft lbs also. Does anyone have the rear specs? Oh the new rubber feels awesome !! WarDawg |

| Re: Torque spec question (919) Rear brake calipers. Thanks.. I use to live in Tacoma.... in the ealry 90's... Parkland and Spanaway area..... Tule Lake rd near Washington Highschool. I took a machinst course at Clover Park Tech school also. The specs I need is the two bolts that bolt the Caliper on the mount. One is a 12mm and one is a 14mm . Like I stated I went and torqued them at 22 Ft.pnds since the fronts was that spec. But I'm just checking.. Thanks again... WarDawg |

| Re: Torque spec question (919) Rear brake calipers. Sorry, WarDawg, I sent you the wrong specs. Here are ALL specs for brake parts, including the rear caliper.
The numbers are: (how many/ thread diameter/NewtonMeters) and (kgf-rn, Ib·ft) I hope you can figure out the numbers, based on what I typed above. The important ones are the ones in blue: thread diameter and the ones in red: lb-ft torque setting. Had to try it this way since these specs were copied from an Adobe Document and pasted here, something that always seems to take some fixing after the paste job. And it takes about 15-20 minutes of editing and re-editing to get these specs to show up unjumbled and neatly. If you need other specs, maybe just shoot me a PM and I'll PM or e-mail them to ya. Hope this helps! HYDRAULIC BRAKE: Front master cylinder reservoir cap screw 2/4/1 (0.1, 0.7) Front brake lever pivot bolt1/6/1 (0.1, 0.7) Front brake lever pivot nut1/6/6 (0.6, 4.3) Front brake light switch screw1/4/1 (0.1, 0.7) Front master cylinder mounting bolt2/6/12 (1.2, 9) Front brake caliper assembly torx bolt8/8/32 (3.3, 24) NOTE 2 Front brake caliper mounting flange bolt 4/8/30 (3.1, 22) NOTE 6 Rear master cylinder push rod lock nut1/8/17 (1.7, 12) Rear master cylinder mounting bolt2/6/10 (1.0, 7) Rear brake caliper bracket bolt 1/8/23 (2.3, 17) Rear brake caliper pin bolt 1/12/27 (2.8, 20) Pad pin 3/10/17 (1.7, 12) Pad pin plug 1/10/3 (0.3, 2.2) Brake hose oil bolt 3/10/34( 3.5, 25) Brake caliper bleeder valve3/8/6 (0.6, 4.3) Step holder mounting bolt4/8/27 (2.8, 20) Rear master cylinder hose joint screw2/6/10 (1.0, 7) NOTES: (from above only) 2. Reason: because it takes 8-10 tries to get stuff not scrambled around.

Wish I had a way to just send you a copy of this manual, but it's 432 pages in Adobe, and is 84.4MB in size! |

Just what I needed. ( Rear brake caliper bracket bolt 1/8/23 (2.3, 17) Rear brake caliper pin bolt 1/12/27 (2.8, 20) )
I wasn't to far off. I see I needed 17 ft lbs for the 12MM bolt . And 20 ft. lbs for the 14mm bolt. I put them both at 22 ft lbs.. Thank you for your time in looking for this info. I'm off to the mountains in the curves tomorrow . WarDawg |
