That sounds like a lot of fun. If the people up here weren't easily the worst drivers I have ever experienced, I would probably own a dual sport or something I could ride on the streets, but I am afraid of idiots, so I will stick to my cage.

I had an xt350 that left me with a permanent limp while i had it, was fun to be headed down some back road and hit some trail without slowing down..

LMAO, I have to say this forum is having me live all of my life dreams when it come to motorcycling. "You guys are killing me" was my exact reaction when Mike posted this thread. I feel so much better now that I joined the ban wagon, but I have to say my wallet is a little pissed off at me...

I'll let you know when we are going to the dirt, do you have any ideas on where I should go first?

Re: New Project

So I watched a few YouTube videos of how to kick start the bike. The videos stated that I should wear the motocross boots to protect my shin, seriously am I five years old to need full protective foot wear just to start this thing? So I go to start it and I was successful but with some casualty to my limbs...

Well now is funny, at first I was ready to sell, I was piss at mikeo for putting a battery in my back to pull the trigger on this, feeling like what did I get myself into. I was pissed at myself for ignoring the video on shin protection. But I'm cool now, pain is gone so lesson learned.

Re: New Project

ive done the same more times than i care to remember! lol i had an old honda 350x 3 wheeler that had heavy motor work and an insane compression ratio. it was stoopid hard to kick. like you had to work it around until it was starting to get compression then literally jump on the kick starter. if you hit it slightly off on the landing it was hell to pay in way of shin raking or itd get close to top dead center reject your effort n kick back so hard i seriously thought it had broken my ankle on several occasions. : )

youll get the hang of it tho. boots are a def must, itd be a hard choice if only given the option of boots or a helmet. : )

i tried to rep you for giving life blood to the kickstarter but it said i had to spread the love before repping you any more. lol

I must be a slow learner, 'cuz it took me until I was SIX to learn this UNfortunately, MX boots are kinda a necessity.

Glad it didn't bite ya too hard.

Yeah, that's where I heard it previously, couldn't remember where.

This statement is like adding salt to the wound, just to let you know...

I thought I broke my leg when it happened, just like Keven stated. Had to lie to the wife in fear of her possibly pressuring me to get rid of it. I felt like I was in the christmas story when everyone kept telling the kid he would shoot his eye out. he ignored the advice and when he almost shot his eyes out he lied...

Sorry dude, I always hated trying to start dirt bikes after setting them up back in my dealer days. I got lucky every time though, lucky.
