I went to www.motocal.com and have been screwing around trying to come u with something I like, this is it so far.

That's a lot of colors you're using there Mikeo, the orange part you colored is throwing me off a bit but with out the orange looks like the Texas colors theme you were going for. Was that the plan?

Sorry, I went back to reread your thread. The ktm billet was colored black, my memory failed me regarding that statement.

Don't limit your search to only Ohlins, there are plenty of equally good shocks out there like Penske, Fox or Racetech. Plus whatever shock you pick is only as good as the tuner for that brand.

Also don't forget that many shocks fit multiple models so someone could be selling a (an example I know) Zx10 shock that fits perfectly with a SV650.

I was lucky to find a complete racetech suspension for my zx6r build. The rear chock came from a 08 zx6 where my bike is an 09. I went to racetech and found out that they were the exact same shocks used.

Understood buddy, Ohlins would be the ultimate score for me, but I've been eyeing both a Fox and a Penske. A Penske triple clicker (like the one I got from Mike) would be my second choice aside from the Ohlins. Having the added compression damping would be great. I may be working on a "hybrid" Penske shock, we'll see though. It's all gonna work out in the end.

Re: New Project

By chance, did you measure the Penske I sent you? Somebody asked me what length I ran the Penske and I didn't have it written down anywhere.

Re: New Project

Gotta love when you get something that is supposed tone "bolt on"

the scotts damper mount I bought was a pain in the ass, for a few minutes, until the cutoff wheel and air compressor were fired up that is. First the frame mount had to be shortened, then the rod. Either way, DONE! And on to see what I need to do next.
