header break-in (quick vid)

I put a new header on the YZ tonight ,unfortunately there were no homeless people in the vicinity of my workspace which I could invite to warm themselves by it.

It does that the first few times it runs and if I leave it idle long enough after break-in it will occur. Nothing compared to my 250f though, that thing was bright enough I took pics with the lights OFF

After replaying it I realized my camera mic was on (sorry) but interestingly enough, my 450 sounds like a washing machine on spin cycle. I wish it was really that quiet, even with a Q on the thing I was still wearing earplugs in there.

(smoke is WD-40 burning off the clamp)

that was actually me, trying to imitate the mighty single as best I could

The lighter they make these engines the thinner and thinner they get, and thus more and more noise, it's amazing on my bud's crf250X (VERY quiet pipe) you can hear his engine noise over the pipe noise when you're on it, freaky....

On the YZ I got used to it, then I put on a thicker/deeper clutch cover (as shown in the vid ) and it had me checking torque values for the next 3 rides, then I realized it was just a change in harmonics

At the time of filming I also had a crankcase breather right about camera height coming out from behind a rad shroud on the other side of the bike, which is probably about 80% of the noise you're hearing

Yeah, the normal noises some bikes make is a trip.Funny that people are always asking about the 929/954 noises.I should visit a moto site for 2 strokes or singles and see what the newbies are saying about all the noises those bikes make.
