| WTB 03/04 Honda CRF450R Looking to get a CRF450R, don't want a beat up P.O.S either. All the 05's here are spoken for until November.

XR's are great for their intended purpose - but they are lethargically slow. |

| Re: WTB 03/04 Honda CRF450R BTW, my dealer has a 2004 CRF450 in his showroom (maybe more in the back).
You should be able to get one from your local dealer, if they do a transfer from another dealer. Or buy one and have it shipped. Shouldn't cost a whole lot. |

Those things are made not that far away from me - I've seen several of them in the Vet classes. Very very very trick!!! |

I have owned a couple of big-bore two smokes - an 83 CR480 and a 97 KX500. Both were brutally fast but I sure wouldn't call them smooth. At least the KX had a powervalve to soften the two stroke hit.
As far as KTM's vibrating ... ... I take it you've never ridden one. |

| Re: WTB 03/04 Honda CRF450R Did you say YZ450? Oh no thats right - you don't want to lead because then the heat is on every single race to do it over and over again, no worries like that with that CRf
hehehe...though not serious, unless you're a brand addict - something else to consider if looking used. The 04's are nice |

I rode my friends 04 YZ450 and it was a bit much for me. I have limited dirt ability and that thing hits like a freight train on crack. Too much for me thanks.

Dano | Dude, the CRF450 ain't slow! Easier to ride than a 250 maybe, but in a way more dangerous because they are sneaky fast. |

| Re: WTB 03/04 Honda CRF450R I have ridden both (the YZF and CRF). I love both bikes but the Yamaha ergonomics didn't agree with me as well as the Honda. And ... like Reaper said, the YZ has a monster hit. The CRF is in my opinion just as fast - you just have to rev it up alot more. I think it is easier to ride than the YZ for a guy just coming off of a two smoke.
I would be just as fast on either bike given the time to learn each one's traits.
LTL: sneaky fast is the best way to describe the new thumpers. You don't feel like you're going that fast till you try to stop and realize you are flat haulin. My last bike was a 2000 KX 250. I am sooooooo much faster on my KTM around a track that it isn't even close. But I am also gravitationally challenged and needed that extra torque. |

| Re: WTB 03/04 Honda CRF450R Yeah, I rode Trackho's 04 CRF450, and like every other thumper I've ridden didn't particularly think much of the motor until I blew a corner because I had so much more steam than on my bike.
It seemed to me they really work not necessarily due to HP, but because they are so hooked up. |
