Snow

Well, after some precision finagling of the garage arrangement, I was able to get the XR400 out.

A cool side-effect of this is, I found some cool trails through the woods right at the back of our neighborhood! I'll have to explore them more indepthly when the snow melts.

Some Pics: http://www.conqsoft.com/myimages/dirt/snow_012504/

(I wore my street bike helmet for better wind/ice protection. )

Re: Snow Ride

I remember with my KLR, I rode it one day in the snow then put it up without knocking the ice off and went to ride later. I couldnt restart it because water was frozen in the pipe. Mom wasnt home so I moved the coffee table out of the den, used what I thought was an old tarp (turned out to be a tablecloth ), and rolled the bike infront of the fireplace to get it thawed to restart.....
Looks like you had fun, arent you glad I 'd you

Just don't try the 360 degree backflip like Brian Deegan on the X-Games. I just saw the highlight. Two broken wrists and a broken femur. Ouch.

I tell ya, it was a lot LESS fun today, with the iced-over surface.

Re: Snow Ride

Yep, dirt bikes suck on ice. They're pretty fun in the snow though. And if you get real thirsty you just grab a handful of snow when you stop for a break....I crash too much to wear a Camelback.

I am with you HondaGal...One of the reasons I sold my 4 wheeler is b/c I was tired of hiking that thing everywhere just to go for a little ride.

Re: Snow Ride

How well do dirtbikes handle in the snow? I was thinking about getting one for the next Michigan winter. My truck sucks.

Never rode a dirtbike.

If it's powder, not too bad. If it's iced over, fuggedaboudit.

Re: Snow Ride

Stud the tires for the ice and you could drag a knee if wanted.
