It's a scam. Email the seller and don't be surprised when you get back an "I accept Western Union only....I won't use an Escrow account...need to move the bike fast...etc".

CycleTrader and Ebay are full of this stuff. I still get a call or two a day for my 929 and you wouldn't believe how many people ask about fraud-ads on CycleTrader...

Where is the bike located?
Who has the title?
Is it under financing now?
What about shipping?

You're going to get back "Nothing's wrong with it. I just got married and have to sell the bike. I have the title in my hand and it's ready to go. Send the money via Western Union and the bike will be at your door in 4-days max as soon as I have the money".

Keep it going by requesting an Escrow service and watch what happens.

The turd doesn't even own this account. He/she most likely stole it (via a hacked password -- too many people use "cat", "dog", etc for their passwords) and the poor owner of this account may not even realize he/she is selling something.

I just called a friend that works for Ebay, I had to leave a VM, but I would like to see how long it takes for this guy to get nabbed.

I don't understand why more of these people arn't getting busted. I was shopping for a bike for my girlfriend and I would have to say that many of them were scams. Most of them were listed for $3500.

Its the old saying..."if its looks too good to be true, it probably is!"

Some of the big tip offs were the face this guy would only take credit cards, and that it was a US Spec bike in europe...also that it would be shipped from euro by FEDEX....LOL!

Most of the time if you see things like that, and they all or 75%, or hell even 1% of the things look like they are screwed, I stay away.

It is always going to happen probably...some dirt balls out there trying to get an extra but or 3500 extra bucks.

Because there are a thousand of these types of "sales" out there, and it only takes a few gullible buyers to keep it going. CycleTrader is the same way. Every phone-number listed is bogus and every "seller" has some sort of email-reply like the one above. Frankly, I wonder if they don't go by some sort of turd-script.

I hate to see anyone get screwed over, but if you're dumb enough to fall for something like this...
What really sucks is the more scams that are out there, the harder it is to make a legitimate deal, and it gives sites like ebay and cycle trader a bad name.
