Quick Question Maybe?

Just sold my 40k mile GSXR 750 for 4500. I have 10k so spend on a new bike OR a new used bike. I have the option of a 04 Gix 1000 for 9640 OTD or get a used 03 RC51 with 841 miles from a guy that is buying a house and has to sell his bike for 7700. With 2300 in mods such as these from Dan Kyle

15/41 EVR2 DID 520 - 225
Sato's - 1000
PCIIIr - 319
Ohlins or Scotts - 400

And other smaller mods where will this leave this bike on the street compared to the gix 1k and other litre bikes. I know the difference in the I4 vs. V-Twin, but from what I'm reading with those mods the RC will take a gix 1k or other litre bike up to certain speeds. I love the V-Twin power and torque. I would like to attend track days now that I'm in AZ when I was in VA I was to far. Previous bikes 91 Katana 750, 01 ZX-6r, 01 gsxr 750.

Other question is on the straights I'm wide open will I stay with the 1ks?

I'm also at 4500 ft if that makes a difference.

if your a HP junky, get the GSXR or any of the new 1000CC i4's coming out. The rc will not match there HP numbers. If you want it to, your going to need an HRC kit.

That being said, the rc is a great bike once you put those mods you listed into it, and change the gearing. Many of us here have done just that, and really been impressed. its the whole twin vs inline...thay totally are different worlds. Have you riden a twin?

Re: Quick Question Maybe?

Yeah rode my buddies TLR for around 300 miles and loved it to death. Love the Twin torque and sound. His bike was a little heavy in the turns. I'm not a HP junky just wondering what I could expect. Love the look of the RC was well. It's just plain sexy.

Thanks,
Brian

I would like to get that bike but I would have to find a way to pick it up this weekend. I was asking him if he could meet me half way for extra cash. Anyone else in that area that would bring it out for cash?

I'm at zip 85635

Well then! I would be happy to say you will love the RC. Its feeling is of a much smaller bike then the TLR IMO. The TLR when I rode it (a very nice bike) felt a bit long to me, even though the wheelbase is as short, or shorter then a 929. I enjoyed it...but I liked the RC51 much better! and so...well, you know...I bought one!

I bet I have 130ish like what CC said. I would like to get it on the dyno...I just need to find a better dyno in my area, the one I have used in the past is run by a bunch of nominds.

I would get the RC, but hey, that's just me! Also, if you get an RC it will make many people on the board jelious, and call you names like (ghey) and things. Its hard sometimes...but I try to overcome there childish tactics.

Welcome to the forum!

Re: Quick Question Maybe?

Thanks for the welcome. I hope to be really happy with my purchase. Been stuck on choosing between the bikes for a long time and I think I finally made up my mind with the RC. Pete's is really nice as well.
