Showmethewheels.

So, I think I might be considering new wheels/rims. I have been reading about how much they affect the weight of your bike, being the momentum and what not. So I am thinking about the O-Z's, but I see they are not the best (I cannot afford the best) but does the OZ allow me to use stock crush and sprocket? I think I would go black, not gold or silver. Also, what can I pull in from my old rims on the market? 20 bucks?

That alone is important, only to keep cost down.

Re: Showmethewheels.

I personally would keep the stockers, cause "ya never know..."

The OZ will allow you to use the stock sprocket and cush. But if you are getting these ready to sell, why will that matter? For $100 more, you can get the forged alu Marchesini's and they are TRICK! They are awesome looking IMO.

The stock 02-03 wheels should bring down some decent $$, I'd think without rotors (which you'll need on the new wheels), you should be able to get $300 for the set, easy...

Re: Showmethewheels.

LOL! $50!

Thanks for the tips cc, that is something I will look at. Have many of you guys checked them out, or ridin on a RC with lighter wheels? PS, I don't not race, this is strictly for posing. I need to buy a suit and a trailer for gratton, so its second policy right now.

Re: Showmethewheels.

OZ are one of the heaviest aftermarket wheels you can buy. I'd stay away from them. Also weight alone is not as important as Moment of inertia (MOI). There was a great artical in Sport Rider on this subject. Overall, the Marchesini wheels have one of the best Dollar to Performance ratios. The OZ pretty much sucked ass.

I have that issue, at home, and started reading it last night. I am going to get through it tonight. I just looked at the OZ's seeing how DK sells them.

I'm almost positive that HBO had alot to do with the popularity of OZ wheels. It's the only thing that makes sense.

Re: Showmethewheels.

I have ridden an RC with cast magnesium marchesini's pretty extensibly at jenningsGP (two days of sessions) and it made the bike feel almost like a smaller bike. VERY noticeable! turned and stopped much better than my bike did. IMO, its a *needed* mod for the RC.

Re: Showmethewheels.

The Marchesini's are very nice, but I prefer the Marvics. I'm not certain if they need adaptors or not, but if you put a Marchesini right next to a Marvic (of the same type), I think you would agree (besides the fact that the Marvics are a bit lighter). There are several sources for them and they compare well price wise with the Marchesinis.

Just forget all this technical mumbo jumbo and buy some spinners. You said yourself it's for nothing but posing.
