| soft rev. well I did it today, I know i said I did it b4, but truth is I never got to it. (and it freaked me out) Well today I did. It's worth it. In fact I have never hit the hard limiter til today. I had always thought that the soft was pretty much it...WOW. it's more pull then I have used up top forever. I did it right with a 3m scotch lock and a cpu cable female connector! WOWza
thanks guys for talking me into it. |

| Re: soft rev. I did some research without find a real clear answer, but I think this mod adds a little more pull around 9000 rpm.

| Re: soft rev. pretty sure this will work on all 50 state bikes. Euro bikes, do not have this "soft rev" limiter on the bike. Just something the DOT and EPA probably thought would be nice for the US specs to have. |

| Re: soft rev. Actually, I think it had more to do with the "average" grade of regular unleaded pump gas available in the states.
Just to clarify what this is, the RC51 as delivered in the US has a "soft" rev limiter around 9K with the "real" limiter coming in at 10,200 RPM. I'm not certain what the physical operation of the soft limiter entail, but it basically stopped the bike from making power above 9k (sort of where it is continuing to climb actually). The mod can be performed on any North American spec RC. |

| Re: soft rev.
Seriously, though, if I remember correctly, LDH does know the real reason for the soft rev limiter but can't say due to the fact that it is "inside" information (inside as he got it from a Honda employee and is sworn to secrecy).
Immediately after I called one of my HRC friends and got the answer for myself, that was it for me, sold the RC. And that's all I'll say about that. |

Doesn't quite work that way since I gave over 500 of those kits away & only after this last requested run did I ask for donations, but still didn't actually charge for them.
