| Race Bodywork This is mainly for archive information, or so people can come and search for it in the future, but it seems that RC51 track bodywork is starting to be phased out by some of the major players in the business. From what I gather so far, Sharkskinz can make them with a 2 month wait, and Cheetah has them in stock still, and on guy on Rogue said that a company called GP composites still makes them, but I have no info on them as the tread there *poof* vanished. So if anyone else knows of who is still making them, post them here. It seems that hotbodies, Airtech (boohoo), Multi-tech have quit, and Im still waiting to hear back from Armour Bodies.

Chris | Did you contact Squidskins? MultiTech went out of business, and the last time I called Hotbodies, they said 10 day delivery . |

I have been sponsored by AirTech since 1991, but when they made the RC bodywork, they used Kevin Graham's (well actually Jordon Zoates or whatever his name is) HRC Factory bodywork as the mold, so the fit was off a bit since the HRC bikes don't have side mounted radiators, have different rear subframes and use a totally different fairing stay up front. It can be adapted, but several owners around here have been frustrated due to the amount of "custom" fitment required to make the HRC style stuff work on their production model. I think someone on .org bought some of the original Honda Canada stuff off of eBay recently and was wondering what he had to say about the installation.
In general, I have been very happy with the AirTech product, although several people have complained about the amount of "tweaking" it needed to fit properly on various bikes.

| Re: Race Bodywork GP Composites bodywork can be purchased through any Vortex distributor.
QB Carbon makes both fiberglass and Cf race and street bodwork for the RC51/SP1/SP2. |

Hey wait a minute! I resemble that remark!! True, I have tested Hotbodies quite a few times. Now if they'd pay me as a test rider I wouldn't mind as much. But anyway their mold was off of a 600 so we did need to do some wigglin & jigglin to get it to fit. I'm use to it now and dont see it as a big problem. You will need additional prep work to fill in the many small holes if you want to get a nice paint job. As far as its durability..... that set you see in the pic has been through umm...about 4 TESTS needing major patch work twice. You gotta love Bondo! |
